Celebrate Your Independence!

In celebration of our country's independence, the Memphis area has numerous events for the whole family. With activities from June 28th through the 4th of July, you can attend more than one!

June 28, 2009

  • Starlight Spectacular
    Bring a picnic and flock to the lawn of Bellevue Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. -- 10:00 p.m. for an Independence Day celebration. The Starlight Spectacular will feature Big Daddy Weave, patriotic music from the Bellevue Orchestra, games for the kids, food vendors, and fireworks.

July 2, 2009

  • Hernando Picnic and Parade
    This Independence Day event is geared just for kids. Help your child deck out his or her scooter, bicycle, or tricycle in red, white, and blue and bring them down to Hernando for a parade around the town square. Free refreshments and a movie will follow. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. -- 9:30 p.m.

July 3, 2009

  • Bartlett Fireworks Extravaganza
    This celebration will be held at Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center at Highway 79 and Appling Road from 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and will include live music, family activities, a car show, and food vendors. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.
  • Collierville Independence Day Celebration
    This is Collierville's 24th annual 4th of July celebration featuring entertainment, food, games, and an exciting fireworks display. The event will be held at H.W. Cox Park located at 350 W. Powell Road in Collierville from 6:00 p.m. -- 9:30 p.m., when the fireworks will begin.
  • Firecracker 5K Run/Walk
    The 11th annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk will begin at 7:00 p.m. at The Racquet Club of Memphis. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

July 4, 2009

  • Red, White, and Blues Celebration
    The Red, White, and Blues Celebration will be held at Handy Park on Beale Street and will include food, music, and entertainment. At dusk, head on over to Tom Lee park to see the fireworks display above the Mississippi River. The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.
  • Fireworks on the 4th Rooftop Party
    Get a bird's eye view of the fireworks from the roof of the Peabody hotel. The party runs from 6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. and will feature Ingram Hill. Admission is $20.
  • Germantown Family Fourth Celebration
    This family friendly celebration includes food, fireworks, and music. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. at Municipal Park and fireworks will begin at 9:10pm.
  • Fireworks in the Park
    Head to Latimer Lakes Park for Horn Lake's Fourth of July fireworks display. Call 662-393-6178 for more information.
  • Independence Day in Olive Branch
    The Annual July 4th "Celebrate Your Independence" event at the Olive Branch City Park will begin at 5:00 p.m. Bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy food, games, and fun!
  • Southaven July 4th Celebration
    This year's celebration will be held at Snowden Grove Park. There will be live music, a fabulous fireworks display, and fun for the entire family! The fireworks display will begin at dusk.

Date To Be Determined

  • Flag City Freedom Celebration
    Held annually at Navy Lake in Millington, this celebration features food, fireworks and performances by the Navy Band. Admission is free and the festivities begin at 5:00 p.m.
