Everyday, cats and dogs all over the Mid-South are abandoned, neglected, lost, or born to strays. Unfortunately, there is not enough room in shelters for all of the homeless animals out there. If you are considering adding a pet to your family, adopting from a shelter or rescue is a loving and compassionate choice. In most cases, it is also cheaper than purchasing a pet from a breeder. Though I strongly encourage the support of no-kill shelters and rescues, I also recognize that adopting from a euthanizing shelter saves the life of an animal.
Below is a list of local shelters and rescues that offer adoption.
