Jess Yoakum's music is part folk, part rock, and pure introspective Sunday afternoon drive. Her enchanting voice accompanied by the lulling sounds of an acoustic guitar is a soothing and perhaps sensual experience.
The Artist:
Originally from Memphis, Jess now makes her home in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. An acoustic guitarist, singer, and songwriter, she has captivated audiences all over the country and now tours primarily in New England and along the West Coast. In late 2005, she teamed up with Boston bluegrass band, Jaded Mandolin with whom she continues to perform.
The Recordings:
Her debut, CD, Jess Yoakum, was nominated for Outstanding Debut Album of the Year (2005 OutMusic Awards) and features Mississippi-native, Charlie Worsham, on dobro, mandolin, banjo, and guitar. Jess Yoakum is currently at work on her second album.
