Thanks to Richard Wamble for providing information on the band.

If you like classic rock, you are almost certain to enjoy the musical stylings of Absynth. When I first heard a sampling of their songs, I was reminded of artists from Jackson Browne to Pink Floyd. This impressive range of styles has given Absynth a sound all its own.

About the Name:
The band is loosely named after the liquor commonly spelled Absinthe or Absinth and is very popular in European countries. The drink has an infamous reputation for having hallucinogenic effects upon the drinker.
The Band:
Glenn Bazze: Vocals/Acoustic Guitar
Robby Atkins: Lead Guitar
Joey Guaso: Rhythm Guitar
Richard Wamble: Bass Guitar
Bobby "Briscoe" Tillman: Drums
The History of Absynth:
As is common in the music scene, Absynth has seen various members during its growth stages. It all started with Present Chaos, the band of Robby's youth. Joey then joined the group but Present Chaos eventually disbanded. Joey and Robby stuck together in hopes of forming the "ultimate rock band." They then teamed up with veteran drummer, Briscoe, who had just finished a two year road tour with Tracer. Next, their search for a singer was rewarded when Glenn answered an ad placed on a community bulletin board. The final missing piece was completed when Richard answered their Memphis Flyer ad calling for a bass player.
From the Band:
Absynth is a combination of local seasoned musicians brought together with the same desire to deliver solid Rock & Roll back into the Memphis music scene. Their original music is best described as a smooth blend of rock and melodic vocals. Live shows are packed with dynamic sets that keep the house rocking and the dance floor hopping all night. Fresh originals that range from hard rock beats, hip moving hooks, and thought provoking ballads are mingled with classic rock and roll songs to create an original atmosphere that crowds love.
Where to Hear Absynth:
If you want to hear Absynth live, they frequently play venues all over the Memphis area including local favorites such as Neil's and The Full Moon Club. Visit their website for their latest dates.

In addition, the band has recently completed their latest album which will be available for purchase in the near future. Check back for updates on this release.
