Babies love to see new things. It can be hard coming up with new ways to stimulate a baby and of course, being cooped up in the house isn't fun for anyone! So here are my favorite stimulating and entertaining places in Memphis to take a baby.
Playscape Park at the Children's Museum of Memphis
Playscape Park is a special area of The Children's Museum just for kids from birth to age 4. The brightly colored area is full of age appropriate toys, props for dramatic play, climbing structures, and equipment for active play. Admission is free for infants but $9 for anyone 1 and older.*Prices are set by The Children's Museum of Memphis and are subject to change. Check with the museum before making your visit.
Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library
The children's section of the Central library might be a bit much for most adults but the brightly colored trees, murals, and toys are sure to fascinate your baby. Top it all off by reading a book to your little one, and you are sure to have a successful outing! Best of all, this is a free activity that can be enjoyed rain or shine.Petco
Petco might be "where the pets go," but it can also be a stimulating place for baby, as well. The aquariums provide a constantly changing scene for your infant to watch. Older babies will enjoy the other animals, as well. With six locations in the Memphis area, this one should be fairly accessible to most people. This, of course, is also a free activity.Memphis Botanic Gardens
The Memphis Botanic Gardens is a great place to stimulate your baby's senses. Grab your stroller and take baby on a tour of gorgeous blooms and enchanting wildlife. From roses to butterflies, magnolias to Koi, your baby is sure to find something of interest here. Admission is just $5 for adults and free for kids under 2.**Admission fees are subject to change. Check with the facility before making your visit.
