The Singing Christmas Tree is an original play that tells a modern-day story all the while incorporating the story of Jesus' birth into it. The story is different each year and is always family-friendly and feel-good. The production's pinnacle is the 44 foot Christmas tree filled with singers who sing Christmas carols during the performance.
Bellevue presented the first Singing Christmas Tree in 1976 at its previous location in Midtown. During the subsequent years and decades, the production grew both in size and in caliber and seamlessly transitioned to the church's new home in Cordova in 1989.
Today, the show features more than 100,000 lights and more than 400 cast, choir, and orchestra members. With its high quality music, lights, costumes, and story, you may forget that you are at a church production instead of a professional play.
Bellevue's present location seats more than 7,000 which helps to accommodate the tens of thousands of people who come to see one of the several Singing Christmas Tree performances each year.
