Shelby County Schools Registration Information

Elementary and Middle School Registration:

August 4, 2009
7:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

High School Registration:

August 4, 2009
12th Grade -- 2:00 p.m.
11th Grade -- 3:00 p.m.
10th Grade -- 4:00 p.m.
9th Grade -- 6:00 p.m.

Proof of Residency Required:


All students must bring at least two of the following items that show the parent or guardian's name and address:
  • Sale contract
  • Real Estate Tax receipt
  • Mortgage statement
  • Current MLG&W bill (or turn-on receipt or local water bill)
  • Lease/Rental contract
  • Military letter of assignment

Proof of Immunization Required:


The following immunizations are required:
  • Immunizations Required for All Students (K-12) - 2 rounds of MMR, both to be received after the child's first birthday; 4 rounds of DTP, one of which to be received after the child's fourth birthday; 4 rounds of polio.
  • Additional Immunizations for Entering Kindergarten - Hepatitis B and Chickenpox
  • Additional Immunizations for 7th Grade - Hepatitis B (if child did not receive as a baby)

Kindergarten Requirements:


Kindergarten students must bring the following documentation:
  • Certified copy of birth certificate
  • Proof of medical exam within the last 6 months
  • Tennessee Child Health Record or Temporary Certificate of Immunization
  • Child's Social Security number
