RiverArtsFest is an annual fine arts festival held in the historic South Main Arts District. This festival brings together the best of two much missed Memphis arts festivals -- Arts in the Park and the South Main Arts Festival. Festival organizers hope that the RiverArtsFest will grow into a signature cultural event for Memphis. Here are some of the highlights of the festival:
- Expanded Artist Market with more than 185 juried fine artists from across the country. Market features painting, photography, ceramics, glass, wearable art, toys, jewelry, and more.
- Hands on Art, a station for artists of all ages to express their creative energies. Last year’s interactive project of hand-painted discs will decorate this year’s festival.
- Four musical stages featuring acts by known regional artists, and dozens of strolling street performers. Acts range from rock, jazz, blues, dance, R&B, jug band, Latin, Motown, country, folk, and classical.
- Artist in Motion stations featuring demonstrations on glass blowing, papermaking, watercolor painting, and more.
- Great food and beverages from area and regional restaurants.
- Special art exhibits in the galleries and shops of South Main.
