A couple of years ago I learned about an incredible service sponsored by AAA and Budweiser called Tow-To-Go. During various holiday seasons throughout the year (including the weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year), you can call AAA if you are too impaired to drive. They will send a tow truck to take you and your vehicle home safely. The service is completely free and you don't even have to be a AAA member to use it.
Even if you don't plan on drinking New Year's Eve, make note of the special hotline for this service in case someone else around you needs it. The number is 1-800-AAA-HELP.
Driving drunk can be fatal and the cost of a DUI is high. With a service like Tow-To-Go, there is absolutely no excuse for anyone to drive impaired.
