A week after Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang was killed in the line of duty, she was laid to rest. As is customary after the death of a police officer, Lang was honored on Thursday with a "sea of blue"--a procession of police cars with flashing blue lights--from North Hollywood all the way to Hope Presbyterian in Cordova where her visitation was being held. On Friday, the slain officer was laid to rest at the same church, followed by interment at Southwoods Memorial Park.
Officer Lang was the 64th Memphis Police officer killed in the line of duty since 1865. She leaves behind four beautiful daughters, ranging in age from 2 to 14.
