I don't know about y'all, but the election coverage kept me on the edge of my seat for much of Tuesday evening. The biggest race, of course, was between President Obama and Mitt Romney and it was neck and neck for a while. A few local races were close, too. For example, Terry Jones won the race for Millington mayor with only 54% of the vote, beating out Kenneth Uselton who got 45% of the vote. Similarly, several of the suburban Alderman and school board positions were won by just a few hundred votes.
Then there were the landslide elections. Representative Steve Cohen won the race with 75% of the vote, easily beating out his primary challenger, George Flinn. Likewise, almost 62% of voters voted against the one cent gasoline tax and 83% voted against the annexation of Kerrville.
