Do You Watch the Olympics?

A friend of mine asked me a few days ago if I was looking forward to Friday. Hard as I tried, I just couldn't think of what was happening Friday. My friend quickly pointed out the error of my ways and reminded me that Friday was the day the Olympics would start.

Silly me. What was I thinking?

The truth is, I really don't watch much of the Olympic games. I may watch a bit of gymnastics during the summer games and some figure skating during the winter games but that is about it. Still, though, I realize the Olympics are a big deal to a lot of people and it is nice to root for your country.

This year, there are several Olympic athletes who have ties to the Memphis area or to Tennessee. Since the odds are good that I'll miss seeing them compete, I'll have to watch the news to see how they did.
