I have always loved back-to-school shopping--both as a child and now as a parent. There's just something a little exciting about a new box of crayons and a brand new backpack. As a parent, though, I am well aware of how expensive this annual shopping trip is. Fortunately, the state of Tennessee can help. From August 3rd through August 5th, you can purchase some of your back-to-school items tax free.
Items that are exempt include clothing under $100, diapers, school supplies, and computers under $1,500. Some art supplies -- including clay, paints, and drawing pads -- are also exempt. For more information, check out the resources below:
