Bill Heard Closing Shop

Thursday September 25, 2008
Effective Friday morning, Bill Heard Chevrolet will be no more. The company issued a statement on Wednesday announcing the closings of all 14 of its locations nationwide, including the Bill Heard dealership in Collierville. These closings will leave approximately 2,700 people without jobs. The company cites financial difficulties as the reason for going out of business.

After having a couple of less than favorable experiences at Bill Heard, I can't say that I'm surprised. I have been lied to, threatened, bribed, and taunted--all while sitting in the Bill Heard showroom. If these are the sales practices used company-wide, then I can certainly see why the company has failed. That being said, I am sorry for those who are suddenly left without a job and hope they are able to move on to bigger and better things.
