Just Another Day on the Golf Course?
Sunday June 8, 2008
The Stanford St. Jude Championship may be wrapping up, but there's other news coming from one Mid-South golf course. A bulldozer operator at the Hidden Valley Golf Course in Jackson, Tennessee stumbled across an interesting find near the fifth hole -- an old military bomb, circa the 1960's or 1970's. Nobody knows how the bomb got there, but it looked just like something out of the movies with a tubular shaped body and tail fins. The scariest part of it all is that the bomb was live. A bomb disposal team from Fort Campbell, Kentucky was dispatched to remove the device. Fortunately, for all of you golfers out there, we have plenty of not-so-explosive golf courses closer to home.
